Lavrov: Trump took deeper approach to settlement in Ukraine after Alaska summit

The summit of the Russian and US presidents in Alaska on August 15 showed that the current US administration is focused on finding a long-term and sustainable settlement around Ukraine, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said in an interview with Naila Asker-zade on the Rossiya 24 channel, SİA informs.

"There (in Alaska) was a very good atmosphere. And it is reflected in the statements made by the presidents (Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump) after the talks," Lavrov said.

According to the minister, there was a "useful conversation" in Alaska. Lavrov added that Trump and his team, especially after the meeting in Alaska, "began to approach the settlement of this crisis (around Ukraine) much more deeply."
