A meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russian President Vladimir Putin may take place in Hungary.
According to SİA, citing Reuters and a White House source, “the meeting between Putin and Zelenskyy could be held in Hungary.” However, the Kremlin has not publicly confirmed its agreement.
Earlier, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz stated that the Ukrainian and Russian presidents would meet within the next two weeks.
On August 18, US President Donald Trump announced that he had called Putin and initiated negotiations for a meeting between the Russian and Ukrainian presidents, which would be followed by a trilateral summit of Putin, Trump, and Zelenskyy.
The source noted that it was Putin who proposed this sequence of events.
