Azerbaijan and Armenia have made a significant step forward towards lasting peace in the region, thanks to the agreements reached in Washington, President of the European Council Antonio Costa wrote on X, SİA informs.
"I had very positive phone calls this week with President Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. The historic initialing of the Agreement on Peace and the Establishment of Interstate Relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan marks a significant step forward toward a lasting peace - for both countries and the wider region. The EU remains fully committed to supporting its implementation and to strengthening regional connectivity, helping communities overcome years of conflict and move toward lasting peace, stability, and prosperity," Costa wrote.
