Tokayev proposes holding OTS heads of state informal meeting in Kazakhstan

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has proposed holding the next informal meeting of the heads of state of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) in Kazakhstan, Report informs, citing Tokayev's office.

The president of Kazakhstan voiced his proposal at a meeting of the chairmen of the parliaments of the TurkPA member states.

"The recent informal meeting of the heads of state of the OTS in Hungary was productive. Kazakhstan is interested in continuing this positive trend. In this regard, I proposed holding the next summit in Kazakhstan," Tokayev emphasized.

He said that the country supports the initiatives of the Parliamentary Assembly and is ready to contribute to Turkic integration: "Kazakhstan is one of the founders of the Organization of Turkic States. We believe that this organization has a special impact on the economic, cultural and humanitarian development of our countries. Its potential should be used to achieve the common goals of our peoples."

According to Tokayev, Kazakhstan highly appreciates the results of the summits of the Turkic states and pays great attention to the high-quality implementation of the agreements reached.

Last year, Kazakhstan chaired the OTS. A number of important projects were implemented under the slogan TURKTIME, and about 100 events were organized. The 5th World Nomad Games held in Astana introduced the world to the Great Steppe Civilization.

"The approval of the Unified Turkic Alphabet can be called a historic event," the president of Kazakhstan added.
