Polish President Andrzej Duda and US leader Donald Trump held a phone call ahead of an upcoming NATO summit in the Hague and discussed issue of the security of the alliance’s eastern flank.
"I just had a very good phone conversation with @realDonaldTrump. Our main topics included the security of Poland and our region in the context of the recently concluded B9 Summit in Vilnius and the upcoming NATO Summit in The Hague, as well as increasing defense spending among member states," he wrote on his X page.
According to Duda, he reassured the US leader that Karol Nawrocki’s "victory in the Polish presidential election guarantees continuity in key aspects of our national policy—especially in maintaining strong transatlantic relations and close cooperation between Poland and the United States.".
