Last year, 3 Azerbaijani citizens were arrested on charges of human trafficking in Cyprus and Guatemala, this was reflected in the Annual Report of the National Coordinator for Combating Human Trafficking (2024), which was discussed today at the joint meeting of the Human Rights, Legal Policy and State Building Committees of the Milli Majlis (Parliament of Azerbaijan), SİA reports.
Among the persons readmitted to the country, one was a victim of human trafficking in Greece.
It was noted that as a result of information exchange with the relevant state authorities of foreign countries, it was determined that three Azerbaijani citizens were arrested by the law enforcement agencies of the Republic of Cyprus and the Republic of Guatemala on charges of human trafficking, and one person among those readmitted to the country was a victim of human trafficking in the Greece Republic.
