1,213 houses in Türkiye's Kahramanmaras to soon be handed over to their rightful owners
The construction of 1,213 houses in the "Azerbaijani Quarter" built in Kahramanmaras city (Türkiye) has been completed, Report informs.
The construction work was carried out under the supervision of TOKI (Turkish Housing Administration) and MIDA (State Housing Development Agency of Azerbaijan).
The houses destroyed by the earthquake were restored using modern urban planning approaches. The project includes 1,213 residential buildings, 1,318 stores and 464 offices.
The quarter also includes an elementary school and a kindergarten named after Heydar Aliyev.
The Haber Global TV channel's correspondent noted that the houses will be handed over to their owners by the end of June, and the opening ceremony will be attended by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
On February 6, 2023, a devastating earthquake measuring 7.7 and 7.6 points occurred in Türkiye with the epicenter in Kahramanmaras. As a result of the disaster, 53,537 people were killed, and another 107,213 were injured. Some 38,901 buildings were destroyed.
