Chinese companies have vast potential to participate in reconstruction of Karabakh
Considering China's rich experience in green energy and digital technologies, Chinese companies have a vast potential for participation in the reconstruction of Karabakh, Kang Jie, a research fellow at the China Institute of International Studies, told journalists, according to Report.
He said during the visit to Shusha, he saw the active reconstruction process.
The expert noted that he was impressed by the attention attached to environment and its protection.
"I found out that there are many hydro dams and the solar energy in use there," he said.
He also emphasized that China has extensive experience in implementing projects that combine digitalization and green construction. As an example, he cited the city of Xiong'an, built under the “Green Fund” initiative just 100 kilometers from Beijing.
“We view Xiong'an as a model of the future Chinese — and possibly global — city. It is an example of how technology development and environmental care can be harmoniously integrated,” the expert added.
According to Kang Jie, the presidents of Azerbaijan and China share similar views on the importance of sustainable and digital development, which opens up additional prospects for bilateral cooperation.
“During my visit to Aghdam, I saw a solar power plant and other infrastructure projects created using Chinese technologies. This confirms that Chinese companies are already involved in the process and may expand their participation in the reconstruction of Karabakh in the future,” he concluded.
