Accused Ghukasyan: 'Hundreds of Azerbaijanis from Khojaly were brought to Khankandi'
During the ongoing trial at the Baku Military Court, defendant Arkadi Ghukasyan answered questions regarding the Khojaly Genocide, which occurred on the night of February 25-26, 1992, and the systematic killing of innocent people based on their Azerbaijani ethnicity.
During the court session, Ghukasyan claimed that he first received information about the events in Khojaly in February 1992, following the provision of "official reports."
"We did not know the scale of the tragedy at that time. We knew that hundreds of Azerbaijanis from Khojaly had been brought to Khankandi, and they were later handed over to the opposing side," Ghukasyan said.
He also emphasized his condemnation of the killing of civilians: "This is unacceptable; it is one of the bloody pages of the war."
