US businessman Elon Musk will stop working for the US authorities after he fulfills his tasks as a supervisor of the country's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said.
This is how she commented on the Politico’s X post. According to it, US President Donald Trump told his team that the political role played by Musk will diminish in the coming weeks. According to the newspaper’s sources, Musk will mainly focus on business "and take on a supporting role" in terms of politics, probably "retaining an informal role as an adviser" to Trump.
"This scoop is garbage," Leavitt emphasized. "Elon Musk and President Trump have both publicly stated that Elon will depart from public service as a special government employee when his incredible work at DOGE is complete," the spokeswoman added.
The US president told reporters on March 31 that Musk would return to his business at some point. At the same time, Trump assured that he intends to keep Musk in power as long as possible.
