Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) has arrested a previously convicted man, recruited by Ukraine’s special services, for planning a terrorist attack in a Moscow office building, SİA informs via TASS.
"The FSB’s department in Moscow has arrested a Russian national born in 1972, with prior convictions, who planned to detonate an improvised explosive device in a crowded area in the interests of Ukraine’s special services," the FSB told TASS.
"The suspect recounted that in February, he was recruited by Ukraine’s special services and took from a stash an improvised explosive device with a timer for planting it in a Moscow office building, according to the FSB. His handler had promised him a safe exit from Ukraine, where he would have joined hostilities against Russian forces," TASS said, citing FSB.
The attacker has confessed and is currently making statements. A criminal case has been launched.
