US proposes Ukraine transfer rights to 50% of mineral reserves – WP journalist
US lawmakers have allegedly suggested that Ukraine transfer rights to half of its mineral reserves, SİA informs via RBC-Ukraine.
This initiative was presented to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, according to Washington Post correspondent Josh Rogin.
"Multiple lawmakers here in Munich told me the US Congressional delegation presented Zelenskyy with a piece of paper they wanted him to sign which would grant the US rights to 50% of Ukraine’s future mineral reserves. Zelenskyy politely declined to sign it," Rogin wrote.
This information has not been officially confirmed.
Meanwhile, the Ukrainian Presidential Office, following talks between Zelenskyy and US Vice President J.D. Vance, stated that Ukrainian and American teams agreed to continue working on a document outlining the economic partnership between the two countries. No further details were disclosed.
