Almost 1,000 vehicles burned down in France in New Year night

Hooligans burned down almost 1,000 vehicles in France during the New Year night, BFMTV channel reports, citing the Ministry of Interior.

In total, 984 cars were set on fire. In connection with incidents, 420 people were detained in the country and 310 were taken into custody.

The greater portion of incidents was related to the improper use of pyrotechnics, including fireworks launched against policemen and firemen, France’s Minister of Interior Bruno Retailleau said.

Hooligans burned down 690 vehicles last year, earlier reports said.
