President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and the entire Azerbaijani people have fulfilled the main will of national leader Heydar Aliyev, the head of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs and leader of the LDPR party Leonid Slutsky said at an event in Moscow dedicated to the memory of Heydar Aliyev, Report informs.
"Today Karabakh has returned home, and I share this happiness with everyone in Azerbaijan, Russia, and other countries. Karabakh is Azerbaijan. Ilham Aliyev worthily continues Heydar Aliyev's work. Azerbaijan today is a prosperous economy, a model state that takes care of its citizens," he said.
In turn, Ilyas Umakhanov, first deputy chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Science, Education and Culture, noted that Ilham Aliyev fulfilled his father Heydar Aliyev's dream and liberated the country's territories from occupation.
"Heydar Aliyev was a great man, a patriot, the founder of the modern Azerbaijani state," he added.
