“The meeting of the COP troika is a very important moment. Together with the UAE and Brazil, we have established the COP troika," said Mukhtar Babayev, the COP29 President-Designate, at the Preliminary Conference of the Parties on Climate Change of the UN (Pre-Cop29) held in Baku, SİA reports.
He said that COP29 will be an important platform for establishing real activities:
"Ambitions can be realized only in conditions of trust. Ambitions should be expanded within the framework of cooperation. We need to expand cooperation and activities between countries. Second, we must ensure transparency. We are proud to note that we announced the Baku Global Climate Transparency Platform. We will mobilize targeted technical assistance through this platform. We are trying to expand these activities. We want to adopt the Baku Transparency Declaration within the framework of COP29."
"We need to raise funds for climate change. Our activities should be calculated to eliminate the consequences of climate change. Investment also means that we must invest in line with our sustainable development plans. COP29 gives us an opportunity to expand global cooperation."
