UN Agency Reports Over 75,000 Palestinians Displaced to Southern Gaza Following Israeli Evacuation Orders
Philippe Lazzarini, the head commissioner of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), has stated that over 75,000 Palestinians have moved to the southern Gaza Strip following Israel's recent evacuation orders.
After the evacuation warnings issued by Israel for Palestinians in eastern Khan Yunis, many residents of Gaza have relocated to the western part of the city, SIA reports with reference to foreign media.
Lazzarini shared a photo on the agency’s official website showing Palestinians moving from eastern to western Khan Yunis. "The ongoing mass migration of the Palestinian people continues," he stated
"Some families are taking only their children with them, while others carry all their belongings in a small bag. They are heading to shelters packed with families. They have lost everything and need help. Unlike previous conflicts, the people of Gaza have nowhere else to go," Lazzarini added.
