Olaf Scholz confident in remaining German Chancellor after 2025 elections
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has expressed his confidence that he will remain in office after the 2025 federal elections.
In an interview with "Stern" magazine, Scholz stated that he believes his party, the Social Democratic Party of Germany, along with the Green Party and the liberal Free Democratic Party, will be able to reach a consensus on budget coordination issues and other disagreements, SIA reports.
Scholz noted that there are some differences of opinion within the coalition, but he is confident that they will be able to work together effectively for the benefit of German citizens.
It's worth noting that the German parliament elections have been scheduled for September-October 2025.
Scholz has previously stated that he wants to continue leading the government after the elections.
However, the Social Democratic Party, the Greens, and the Free Democrats have seen their ratings decline. The opposition is also gaining support.
