Ukrainian Deputies Highlight Challenges in Establishing Open-Type Positions for Soldiers
Ukrainian member of parliament Irina Gerashchenko has stated that the Ukrainian army lacks sufficient equipment to establish open-type fortifications, but the demand for such equipment is not insignificant compared to the demand for weapons, SIA reports with reference to Russian media.
Gerashchenko noted that in 2023, more funds are allocated for trenches near Volchansk than for roads in that direction, TASS reports.
Additionally, responsible individuals for the fortifications have not been identified within the government, as efforts are being made to transfer them to the military.
The Ukrainian deputy emphasized that there is a significant number of applications from excavator queues and crews for fortifications in the military queue.
The "VZGLYAD" newspaper wrote about the conflict within the Ukrainian engineering forces, noting that it dissolved after the country gained independence.
