West countries can deploy troops to Ukraine if conditions allow, says Macron

French President Emmanuel Macron has stated that while Western countries can deploy troops to Ukraine, conditions must be met for this to happen, SIA reports citing The Economist.

He explained that the deployment could be considered if the Russians breach the front line and if Ukraine formally requests assistance.

At present, no such conditions have materialized.

Macron urged allies not to dismiss the possibility of sending troops, highlighting its significance for the security and influence of the European Union.

He recalled Paris' past deployment of troops to aid African leaders.

Macron proposed deploying troops to Ukraine for the first time in February of this year, a proposal rejected by NATO and unsupported by Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia.
