Patriarch Kirill addresses imposed sanctions, expresses unfazed stance

Moscow and All-Russia Patriarch Kirill has spoken out about the sanctions imposed against him, stating that they do not intimidate him.

the Patriarch added that despite the restrictions, he has traveled to more than 120 countries across all continents throughout his lifetime, SIA reports with reference to Russian media.

"I have seen everything, heard everything, and I have enough experience to live the rest of my life with this experience," he said.

The Patriarch suggested that the sanctions imposed on him could be related to the Russian Orthodox Church's "choice of a different path of civilization development" and its readiness to challenge others.

Patriarch Kirill has been subject to sanctions since February 24, 2022. Restrictions have been imposed by Great Britain, the Czech Republic, Canada, Lithuania, and Ukraine.
