Russian Security Council Secretary emphasizes strengthening measures against illegal migrants

Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev has emphasized the need to strengthen the fight against illegal migrants in the country's northwest, SIA reports citing TASS.

According to Patrushev, there should be no ethnic enclaves in the territory of the Russian Federation, as migrants create a breeding ground for crimes, including terrorist and extremist acts.

According to the Secretary of the Security Council, there is a risk of terrorists and extremists infiltrating the country under the guise of labor migrants.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has defined tasks in the field of updating approaches to migration policy. In this regard, the protection of national interests and public security of the Russian Federation, including cultural and linguistic identity, should be taken into account, as stated by Patrushev.
