During the inauguration of youth centers in five regions of the Russian Federation, President Vladimir Putin highlighted the ancient Tauric Chersonese in Sevastopol as one of the sources of Russian spirituality.
The head of state underscored the sacred and highly significant nature of the Tauric Chersonese for the entire country, SIA reports citing foreign media.
He recalled that it was there that Prince Vladimir of Kiev was baptized, uniting Slavic heritage and laying the foundation for the unified Russian state.
"Here, everything is intertwined: spiritual principles, state principles, our historical and cultural traditions," remarked the Russian leader.
Putin also announced plans to visit the ancient Greek city located on the southern coast of Crimea once again.
