On March 31 (Sunday), elections will be held across Turkey for the selection of municipal mayors, SIA reports with reference to Turkish media.
Voters will cast their ballots to elect municipal council members along with members of provincial assemblies, including mayors for 30 metropolitan municipalities, 51 provincial municipalities, 973 districts, 390 towns, and 50,336 villages and neighborhoods.
In the election, which will see the participation of 34 political parties, a total of 49 candidates, including 22 from political parties and 27 independents, will compete for the highest number of nominations, with Istanbul being the province with the most candidates.
The youngest candidate is 18 years old, while the oldest is 90.
