Russian FM suggests Macron's military deployment remarks signal intent to divide Ukraine
Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, has commented that French President Emmanuel Macron's statements regarding the possibility of sending military personnel to Ukraine indicate the beginning of efforts by Kyiv's allies to "fragment" the country.
The series of statements by Macron and other NATO politicians about the potential deployment of contingents to Ukrainian territory are seen from their perspective as linked to the possible division of Ukraine.
Zakharova stated during a briefing that this is also related to Ukraine's reluctance to join NATO as a full-fledged member, SİA reports citing Russian media.
The Russian Foreign Ministry representative emphasized that Western allies are "ready to occupy and divide Ukraine." TASS reported on Western politicians openly discussing this matter.
Zakharova highlighted that there is currently a "psychological preparation" among NATO countries and the Ukrainian population for this scenario.
