2 UAVs shot down over Novgorod region, Russia

Two unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) have been shot down in the skies over the Novgorod region.

The head of the region, Andrey Nikitin, shared the incident on Telegram, SIA reports citing Russian media.

According to his statement, there were no casualties or damages reported.

The Russian Ministry of Defense clarified that the UAVs were detected around 15:30 Moscow time by the air defense systems of the Russian Aerospace Forces. They were successfully eliminated by the defense systems during the air attack.

This marks the latest occurrence since the last attack on the Novgorod region in August 2023, where a military airfield was set ablaze, and an aircraft suffered damages.
