Regional cooperation is an important component of the Russian-Azerbaijani strategic partnership and alliance, Russian President Vladimir Putin said in his welcoming message to the participants of the 12th Russian-Azerbaijani interregional forum, which started on February 28 in the Stavropol Krai of the Russian Federation, Report informs.
The President of Russia noted that regional cooperation makes a great contribution to strengthening trust and mutual understanding between peoples, expands opportunities for promoting mutually beneficial trade, investment and humanitarian ties, and creates conditions for improving the well-being of citizens of both countries.
“Your regular meetings, which have already become a good tradition, provide direct, interested dialogue between representatives of government authorities, public, scientific and business circles on topical issues of interregional cooperation. This year the agenda of the forum is, as always, voluminous and meaningful. The focus is on various aspects of the development of cooperation in the fields of industry and agriculture, support for small and medium-sized businesses, and joint projects to protect the environment,” Putin said.
