US Officials express concern over death of Russian opposition leader Navalny

Reacting to the death of Russian opposition leader Alexey Navalny, US officials have expressed their concerns.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, speaking at the Munich conference, stated that Navalny's death "reveals the vulnerability and weaknesses in the system Putin has built, fueled by one person's suspicions and fears."

Blinken added that Russia bears responsibility for this, and discussions will be held with many other countries concerned about Navalny's request, especially if the news is confirmed to be true.

National Security Advisor to the White House, Jake Sullivan, emphasized that after confirmation and more details are available, they will determine "what happens next." He also noted that if confirmed, it would be a terrible tragedy, considering Russia's long and regrettable history of harming its own opponents.

Meanwhile, US Vice President Kamala Harris, currently in Munich, stated that Russia bears responsibility for this death.
