China has called for an end to attacks on civilian vessels in the Red Sea that have dramatically widened the Hamas-Israel conflict and placed Beijing's commercial interests along the Suez Canal at risk, SIA reports with reference to foreign media.
According to Mao Ning, the spokesperson of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it is imperative to put an end to threats towards civil courts in order to maintain the smooth operation of global production and supply chains, as well as the international trade order.
The Chinese diplomat also emphasized the importance of resolving the conflict in the Gaza Strip as it has the potential to escalate and affect the entire Middle East region.
The Houthis had previously assured the free passage of Russian and Chinese ships in the Red Sea, as they have no involvement with Israel.
