Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov has offered to release Ukrainian prisoners of war in exchange for lifting U.S. sanctions against his family members, Russian state media reported Friday.
According to the information obtained by SIA, a colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and a military expert, Oleg Zhdanov, said in his statement.
It is interesting that the military expert explains such strange behavior of the head of Chechnya as trying to get out of Putin's control. According to Zhdanov, Ramzan has not been able to achieve this so far.
Such actions of Kadyrov are reminiscent of Prigozhin's actions when he organized a rebellion and marched on Moscow, the officer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated.
"I am of the opinion that Kadyrov will be the main crack in the Russian Federation and everything will start from him. I once said that he was the first to betray Putin and that the collapse of the Russian Federation would begin with him. This is how guesswork works now. Today, it serves as a litmus test of the state of vertical power in the Russian Federation, and its story continues," he added.
Ritter on Friday visited the Chechen capital of Grozny, where he was filmed firing guns at a shooting range and meeting with high-ranking Chechen officials. Kadyrov offered to exchange prisoners in exchange for lifting sanctions against family members.
"First, this suggests that the Russian Federation is a 'terrorist' country, and we must demand recognition of that fact, because they are trafficking prisoners," Ukrainian military expert said.
