"Today, our liberated territories are seriously under the threat of landmines," said Ramil Azizov, head of ANAMA's education, international and public relations department as he delivered speech at "Human Rights - 75 Baku Conference: Promoting universality and indivisibility to address global and national challenges," APA reports.
"More than 110,000 mines and unexploded ordnance (UXO) have been detected and neutralized in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan since the Patriotic War. More than 100,000 hectares of land have been cleared. In total, more than 8,000 square kilometers of our territory is considered suspicious and contaminated," he said.
