The number of citizens of military age is decreasing every year in Armenia, a Member of the National Assembly of Armenia Hayk Sargsyan said, SİA informs via Armenian media.
"Over the past 15 years, each year we have had fewer conscripts than the previous year. This is worrying. Those citizens who do not want to serve leave the country and renounce citizenship," said the MP.
Sargsyan presented data on conscripts from 2010-2019:
"In 2010, we had more than 44,000 conscripts, and over the next 9 years, this number decreased by 44%. The number of military personnel decreased from 44,000 to 24,000," he noted.
