President: France must pay compensation for consequences of nuclear tests

Over the course of 30 years in the 20th century, France conducted about 200 nuclear tests in French Polynesia, and within 6 years, 17 nuclear tests in Algeria. The people of Polynesia and Algeria still feel the grave consequences of these nuclear tests, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said as he addressed the participants of the international conference themed "Neocolonialism: Violation of Human Rights and Injustice," according to SİA.

"In accordance with the calls of many organizations, the damage caused by nuclear tests must be assessed, and France must pay appropriate compensation," the message reads.
