Turkiye and Japan sign joint declaration on the start of the Energy Forum
A Joint Declaration on the start of the Energy Forum was signed between Turkiye and Japan, SIA refers to Turkish media.
Turkiye's Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar and Japan's Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Nishimura Yasutoshi met in Istanbul to assess the possible cooperation between the two countries in the field of energy.
Speaking at the signing ceremony after the meeting between the delegations, Minister Bayraktar stated that he and the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan, Nishimura Yasutoshi, conducted comprehensive assessments and said "2024 is the 100th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Turkiye and Japan. 2024 is our year from this point of view.
"It is very important for us. Therefore, we think that the "Turkiye-Japan Energy Forum" will serve to improve the cooperation between the two countries in this field," he added.
Japan's Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Nishimura Yasutoshi expressed that they have taken an important and big step towards the realization of the "Turkiye-Japan Energy Forum" and said that we plan to organize a forum in Tokyo next year on the occasion of our 100th anniversary. I hope that our bilateral relations in the field of critical mining will improve by taking the agreed energy forum as a starting point. Our cooperation in various fields, especially in the field of energy, will also continue in the coming period.
The cooperation between Turkiye and Japan is planned to be developed under the main headings such as "renewable energy, energy efficiency, natural gas and new fuels/technologies".
