Woman who sent Trump poison letter sentenced to 22 years in prison

A Canadian woman who sent a letter laced with the deadly toxin ricin to former President Donald Trump at the White House was sentenced Thursday to over 21 years in prison, SIA reports with reference to foreign media.

Pascale Cecile Veronique Ferrier, 56, a dual citizen of Canada and France, pleaded guilty in January to sending the homemade poison-laced letters to Trump and eight Texas law enforcement officials from her home in Quebec in September 2020.

After serving her sentence, Pascal Ferrier will be deported from the United States and face life in prison if she returns.

Ferrier told the judge before sentencing that she is a grandmother of four and an "activist," not a terrorist.

Also worth noting that, an antidote for the deadly poison ricin has not yet been found.
