“Poland and Latvia have the same problem — that the border is being attacked in a hybrid fashion by Belarus,” Poland’s President, Andrzej Duda, told reporters in Warsaw alongside Latvian President Edgars Rinkevich.
“We have no doubt that it’s in cooperation with Russia,” he added
According to information obtained by SIA, security, economy, energy and infrastructure issues were discussed at the meeting between two heads of the states.
Polish and Baltic officials will meet Aug. 28 in Warsaw to discuss joint action on the border, Lithuanian Internal Affairs Minister Agne Bilotaite said. A potential closure is being discussed on a technical level, she said.
Duda stated that the most important topic of the meeting is the ongoing Ukrainian-Russian war since February 24, 2022 and the threat of a hybrid attack by Belarus on the Polish border.
The support and cooperation with Ukraine, the results of the last NATO summit and bilateral military cooperation were also discussed at the meeting.
