Thief tries to use stolen bank card to pay in shop of card's owner

A thief was arrested on Saturday after attempting to use the bank card he had stolen the day before, SIA refers to foreign media.

Little did he know that the card he had stolen belonged to the same shopkeeper of the shop where he tried to use it.

The card was stolen on Friday evening in Coo (Liège Province) as its owner was unloading his car and the thief stole the wallet that was inside the vehicle.

But the robber had no idea that the owner of the wallet was a shopkeeper and went to the very shop the next day, unaware that it was his victim’s business.

When the thief tried to use the stolen bank card, the shopkeeper alerted the police, who quickly apprehended the suspect.

The individual, born in 2000, is illegally resident in Belgium and Luxembourg. He was released on bail and is expected to be brought before the Liège public prosecutor’s office on Sunday.
