Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed resolution on the creation of a federal register of “objects of intangible ethno-cultural heritage”: it includes fairy tales, dances, epics, crafts, rituals, customs and traditions.
SIA reports that, according to Russian media, the list will be posted on a public Internet resource. The Ministry of Culture will be responsible for its filling.
Similar registers will also be created in all subjects of the Russian Federation.
“The creation of a public information resource will simplify the study, use, preservation and promotion of intangible ethno-cultural heritage. The register will contain information about the origin of this or that object, the area of its existence, the bearers and keepers of the original traditional culture,” the document signed by Mikhail Mishustin says.
In October 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed to create a register of fairy tales, dances, epics, crafts and other “objects of intangible ethnocultural heritage”. The law signed by the head of state stated that the authorities should make efforts to popularize and preserve the rituals and traditions existing in the country.
