American Business Insider magazine noted the growing interest of the Gulf countries in Turkish drones and published a remarkable analysis of the rise of the Bayraktar TB2, SIA reports with reference to Turkish media.
The article states that Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates are interested in Turkish-made UAVs, and that Turkiye has increased defense industry trade with its neighbors in the Middle East.
"A record number of contracts were signed during the visit of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia in July 2023," the article notes.
The article also mentions that the Gulf countries have previously used Chinese-made drones.
"The rapid rise of "Bayraktar TB2" has overshadowed Chinese drones, and the Gulf countries have become the largest customer of Turkish drones in a few years".
