At Least 11 people killed in landslide in Georgia

The death toll in landslide-hit Shovi resort of Georgia rose to 11, Health Minister Zurab Azarashvili said, SIA reports with reference to Sputnik Georgia.

According to the Georgian media source, the search for 25 people is ongoing.

Rescuers discovered the bodies of four more people in the landslide-hit Shovi resort of the Oni municipality, Georgia, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) reported, confirming the rise of the death toll to 6.

140 more people were safely evacuated from the disaster area, while no contact with the 35 missing persons have been reported.

The Emergency Situations Management Service despatched a team of cynologists accompanied by highly trained dogs to aid in the rescue efforts.
