Candidates from 'United Russia' afraid to use theme of war in election campaign

Candidates from "United Russia" party are afraid to use the theme of war in the election campaign.

"Vyerstka" shared after a talk with the representatives of the party in the regions and political technologists, SIA reports.

"If you declare that you support the war, you will not be elected," a member of the pre-election headquarters of the "United Russia" candidate in the Urals region, whose name has not been disclosed, said.

According to him, there is not a single person in their district who supports the war. But there are villages where a quarter of the population who went to war and 'returned in coffins'.

Similar stories are told at the headquarters of the "United Russia" campaign in the regions of Siberia and the Far East. Some don't talk to voters about the war at all.

On September 10, 2023, re-elections of dozens of governors and regional parliaments, as well as four deputies of the State Duma will be held in Russia and the occupied territories.

"Vyerstka" noted that currently no region of Russia promotes military topics as agitation.
