Forced deployment of Chechens to war in Ukraine continues

Forced deployment of soldiers to the war in Ukraine continues in Chechnya.

The men who returned to the region after the previous wave of mobilization fear for their lives and freedom once again. If they refuse to go to the front, they can face prison and torture.

Recently the pressure of the security forces has increased in this direction in the republic, and residents are having problems getting passports.

According to information obtained by SIA from foreign sources, most of those who somehow left Chechnya and fled abroad are afraid to talk about themselves. And why is that? Because they are a threat: if someone leaves Chechnya, woe betide their relatives who remain back home. In other words, all family members who remain will be killed.

Today, in most of the countries of the European Union, starting from Turkiye, you can meet Chechen refugees who fled the country due to the war. Interestingly, among them, most of those who want to talk about their lives want to remain anonymous. According to them, on this account, 'no man should remain in Chechnya'.

"When the fighting started in Ukraine, when the Chechen mullahs started preaching that the war is "holy", we, on the contrary, discussed that going there is a crime and a sin. I don't know how they found out about us?"

"Before it was possible to bribe, but now those arrested are immediately sent to war.

War propaganda has intensified in the republic, and Chechen authorities are forced to go to Ukraine under the threat of criminal prosecution."

This was stated by Jambulat Suleymanov, the head of the United Forces of Chechnya located in Europe.

According to him, today Kadyrov has created for himself the image of the savior of the nation, and he is increasingly attracting people to a new war.

"It turns out that it is good to die for Russia in Ukraine, but not to protect Chechnya from Russian occupation?.

The fact is that in Chechnya itself, the residents of the region avoid communicating with each other on these issues because they do not feel safe", he added.

According to the information provided, today the officials, imams and commanders in Chechnya are responsible for the number of people involved in the war against Ukraine. - in order to comply with this "norm", local residents are illegally detained in secret prisons, and if they refuse, they are threatened with repression against their relatives.
