Overchuk: Moscow in almost daily contacts with Baku, Yerevan on transport links

Moscow contacts Baku and Yerevan almost every day to unblock transport links between Azerbaijan and Armenia, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk told Russian media, according to Report.

"Russia participates in negotiations, proposes solutions, provides communication between the Deputy Prime Ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia, a platform for dialogue. I never answer the question of when exactly the unblocking will occur and how quickly or slowly - it will happen when the parties agree," he said.

Overchuk also said that he had discussed with Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) issues that remained unresolved after the meeting in Moscow with colleagues from Azerbaijan and Armenia.

"The main work is ongoing. We maintain contact with the Azerbaijani and Armenian sides on the topic of unblocking transport links almost on a daily basis. This is actually the case. We constantly communicate through phone calls, file exchanges. Work does not proceed from a meeting to the meeting," he said, answering a question about the timing of the next meeting of the trilateral working group.

Earlier, following the meeting of the working group of Moscow, Baku and Yerevan on June 2, Overchuk noted significant progress in the dialogue on unblocking transport communications between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
