The leadership of Rome has decided to strengthen security measures in connection with the arrival of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, due to which the sky over the city will be closed, SİA informs referring to La Repubblica newspaper.
According to the publication, air control will be carried out with the help of state police helicopters. In addition, in connection with the visit of Zelenskyy, control at railway stations and airports will be strengthened. Checks will also take place on the embankments along the Tiber River.
The newspaper added that the police will block the center of Rome.
Zelenskyy is expected to arrive in the city early on May 13. The plane of the head of the Ukrainian state is likely to land at Ciampino Airport.
