Azerbaijan’s mission to OSCE issues statement over Armenia’s provocations
The Permanent Mission of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the OSCE has made a statement at a meeting of the OSCE Permanent Council in connection with the provocations and aggression of Armenia aimed at disrupting the negotiation process on a peace treaty, SİA informs.
The statement says that on May 10-11 this year, Armenia committed another military provocation, as a result of which one soldier of the Azerbaijani army was killed, and another was seriously injured.
It is emphasized that this deliberate provocation committed by Armenia immediately after the meeting in Washington indicates that this country is not interested in advancing the peace agenda.
The statement notes that the recent events in Armenia, in particular the so-called “trial” against the Azerbaijani servicemen, the installation of a monument dedicated to the terrorist Operation Nemesis, demonstrate the growth of revanchist tendencies that threaten peace and security in the region.
The document also says that Azerbaijan, being the initiator of the normalization program and currently continuing large-scale restoration work in the territories liberated from occupation, is not interested in tension, and is also taking all necessary measures to prevent provocations.
It was emphasized that such provocations by Armenia should be condemned by the international community, including the importance of intensifying international efforts to stimulate this country to adhere to the peace agenda.
