American public intellectual and linguist Noam Chomsky thinks that Ukraine could become an analogue of modern Mexico or even Austria during the Cold War, RIA Novosti reported with reference to New Statesman, SIA reports.
Chomsky is sure that due to the conflict with Russia, Ukraine will never become a member of NATO. He refers to historical facts in favor of this and reminds that such policy has been observed since Yeltsin and Gorbachev.
In addition, according to the American historian, Kyiv has shown itself as a state incapable of independent action.
According to the American intellectual, Ukraine is completely dependent on the United States, which refused peace talks in March-April of last year.
"All this aside, like the US today, the UK is only interested in their own interests, ignoring the plight of Ukraine," Chomsky added.
