North Korean leader Kim Jong-un ordered the launch of the country's first military reconnaissance satellite, SİA reports citing Yonhap.
Kim visited the North's space development agency to inspect the preparations for the launch, which is expected to take place later this month, the state media reportedly said.
Kim also emphasized that the operation of the satellite is essential for the North to strengthen its military effectiveness of war deterrence against South Korea and the United States.
