Russia's rating in Armenia has dropped, Hrapark newspaper said.
According to the information, the Russian Embassy in Yerevan recently conducted a public opinion survey in Armenia, and shameful results were obtained. It turned out that before Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan came to power in 2018, more than 70% of Armenian citizens had a positive attitude towards Russia as a strategic partner, but now this figure has halved to 40%.
According to Hrapark, this fact caused serious concern in the Kremlin: “But the Russian leadership does not know what to do so far and will not take drastic measures. Because there is no serious progress in the attitude of Armenian citizens toward the West either. According to the results of surveys, the trust in Iran among Armenian citizens has increased.”
In another article of the newspaper, it was stated that Western countries warned Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan against supporting Russia.
According to the information, serious discussions took place between the leaders of the Western countries and the Armenian prime minister. Pashinyan was seriously warned against supporting Russia in evading the economic sanctions imposed by the West: “Pashinyan agreed with this. However, as a result of this step, financial flows to the country will stop and Armenian businessmen will suffer.”
