Number of injured in 5.6 magintude Iran earthquake rises to 165

The number of injured people in a 5.6-magnitude earthquake that jolted northwestern Iran rose to 165, SIA refers to foreign media.

According to Iran's official news agency IRNA, West Azerbaijan Governor Mohammad Sadik Mutedediyan announced that 139 of the 165 people injured in the 5.6-magnitude earthquake in the city of Khoy were discharged after the first interventions, while the others were being treated.

On the other hand, West Azerbaijan Housing Foundation General Manager Cafer Berzegar said that 80 settlements in 10 villages in Selmas and Khoy cities were damaged in the earthquake. An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.6 occurred at 06:46 am local time yesterday in the city of Khoy in Iran's West Azerbaijan province. According to the first estimates, 82 people were injured in the earthquake in the cities of Khoy and Selmas.

The city of Khoy, located in the northwest of the country near the Turkish border, was shaken by an earthquake measuring 5.8 on 28 January. While 3 people lost their lives in the earthquake, 1167 people were injured.
