UN: We will face serious health problems if not tackle the challenges
"If countries don't invest properly in the health system now, we will face major problems in the future," said the Former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom (2007-2010), United Nations Special Envoy for Global Education, WHO Ambassador for Global Health Financing Gordon Brown at the panel “New global health building structure: Health promotion, provision, protection, strengthening, and actions in this direction” within the framework of the 10th Global Baku Forum on the topic of “The World of Today: Challenges and Hopes” which was organized by Baku Nizami Ganjavi International Center, APA reports.
"An emergency situation has arisen in the health sector. Three years ago, the world was not ready for COVID-19, we, the countries, must learn from our mistakes and be ready for the future," said Gordon Brown.
"Serious health problems have arisen in Afghanistan and African countries. Serious challenges remain in the field of health care, and we must do our best. If we do not solve these issues, we will face big problems in the future, we need to invest in the future and mobilize resources," he added.
