Armenia's Defense minister to be dismissed, new successor is announced

Defense Minister of Armenia Suren Papikyan will resign, SİA reports citing Armenia's Graparak newspaper.

His resignation is a settled matter, and it is currently being discussed how he should resign and what position he will hold.

It was noted that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan sees Armen Abazyan, director of the National Security Service, as the new defense minister.

"After the war, it was Abazyan who negotiated with the Azerbaijani side about the exchange of prisoners, delimitation and demarcation and found a common language. This is not an unimportant issue for Pashinyan," said the source.
